# How to Reorder Custom Fields on the Front End

Easeful Themes for ACF lets you choose the order your custom fields appear in on the front end by dragging them into place, without changing the field group in Advanced Custom Fields or writing any template code.

The order you set here is separate from the order of the fields in ACF's own field list. ACF's order controls how the fields appear on the edit screen when you write a post; the Design tab's order controls how they appear to visitors when the group is rendered by Easeful Themes for ACF. Reordering one never touches the other.

## How to Reorder Custom Fields

1. Edit the field group whose fields you want to reorder, scroll down to its Settings box and switch to the 'Design' tab.

2. The left column lists every top-level field in the group in the order it currently renders on the front end, one row per field, with the field's label and type.

3. Grab a field by the handle at the left of its row and drag it up or down to where you want it, then let go. The row settles into its new spot straight away. Repeat for any other fields you want to move.

4. Click 'Save Changes' at the top of the screen to keep the new order.

Your fields now render in that order wherever the group appears on the front end. To see the result before visitors do, open a post the group applies to, or pick the field group under 'Preview with' in any theme's editor under ACF → Themes, which shows it in its saved order, whether it's placed by automatic display, the shortcode, or the template tag. While you're in the list, you can also untick a field to hide it from the front end entirely, or use the dropdown at the right of each row to set how much of the row it takes up ('Full', 'Half', 'Third' or 'Quarter'); fields you add to the group later in ACF join the end of the list at full width.
